In Spring 2020, UL FEPA SIP leading researchers Ieva Margeviča-Grinberga, Tamara Pigozne and Svetlana Surikova in cooperation with partners from Finland, Estonia and Latvia started to implement INTERREG Central Baltic programme 2014-2020 project "Sustainability in Finance – SuFi".

The main objective of the INTERREG Central Baltic project "Sustainability in Finance - SuFi" is to accelerate and align vocational business / finance education with Sustainable Development Goals and sustainability principles to ensure inclusive opportunities for business students and graduates across the Central Baltic region and enhance cross-border vocational finance education with coherent sustainability content for all. SuFi project aims at developing a vocational Sustainability in Finance open online module for vocational education and training (VET) by involving students, teachers and stakeholders in new competence and modular development. The project is needed in order to match employment demand, to enhance competetiveness, work opportunities and mobility, and to enhance new required competences among business graduates in the Central Baltic region. Six project partners and three associated partners from Finland, Latvia and Estonia expected to be involved in the implementation of the project from 1 March 2020 till 30 November 2022. The project's manager from the University of Latvia is Ieva Margeviča-Grinberga, an associate professor and leading researcher. The first two SuFi project consortium meetings were held on 15 March and 12 June 2020 using software-based video-conferencing system Zoom. During online communication at Zoom platform, project's participants were introduced to others and the most important issues regarding project's management, implementation and dissemination were disscused.
