Shortly before Christmas, on December 21-22, 2016, the eSTEM project meeting has been organized in the Faculty of Engineering of the Alexandria University. The eSTEM project team of the University of Latvia was represented by project manager Manuels Fernandezs and five project researchers: Rita Birziņa, Tamāra Pīgozne, Lūcija Rutka, Rudīte Andersone, and Svetlana Surikova.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ain Shams University, Nile University, Egyptian E-Learning University, Alexandria University and other Egyptian institutions. The work was organized in accordance with the follow-up meeting agenda drawn up. During the first day of the meeting, the achievements within the project WP2, WP3, WP4, WP10, WP12 were discussed as well as the future action plan for the next six months was proposed. Manuels Fernandezs and Rudīte Andersone have presented a vision of the STEM teacher training program, which will be implemented in practice in April, 2017 in Riga within the project WP6. During the second day of the meeting it was reported on the purchase of equipment, financial affairs in each institution involved in the project, as well as the partners agreed on the next meeting’s time and place. After the meeting, the UL team together with the Egyptian partners in an informal atmosphere have discussed the content of the STEM program core modules (WP2). The next meeting is planned to be held in the University of Latvia in April, 2017.
